I can't believe there is a recipe for these! I loved them when I was in school in Cuyahoga Falls...I was just telling a friend of mine about them and he thought I was crazy talking about something called Hollywood Squares :) I can't wait to make this for him!! He loves peanut butter things as much as I do, these are guarenteed to be his favorite

Steve,

Thank you for your concern. We will not be updating the title - but rather, I will post a disclaimer in the recipe. We do NOT want to mislead people - but we do rank rather well on the term. This cake is a made with Splenda for baking which does contain sugar. This is not a Sugar Free cake.

Thanks!

Bad on you! Ever hear of honesty and integrity?

Sad!

HI, Am not getting into the argument but yes Splenda comes sugarless and there is also one for baking that has sugar; it comes in a large pale yellow bag.
I am looking for recipes using Stevia, not alterntives to stevia such as truvia and others that contain chemicals but using pure stevia. I heard there were pound cake recipes using stevia but ea one I find has sugar or some other sweetener.
We cam eup with our own apple pie and also carrot cake recieps usign stevia so maybe we need to exteriment and come up with one on our own (my Mom and I)> Will let you know if I do and in the meantime if anyone has such recpies, please post. Thanks so much. Cher

Love this recipe! Have adapted it slightly for my own purposes, but the cake is flavorful & moist. It's such a shocking combination to most people but once they try it they're hooked!

I so remember these. I grew up on these yummy squares of goodness. Being from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio...we did in fact call them hollywood squares. I remember my mom having the recipe, and every Christmas, she would make them. Now that I am a mother myself, I wanted to be able to pass down the tradition to my son.

What would be your suggestion as to storing the batter? I'm making a couple of them tonight for my fiance and a couple of his buddies, but wanted to take these to a potluck luncheon later this week? Maybe just to bake them all at once?
